TRAXXAS SLASH
Slash Spec Class Rules
This class is for the ready to race version of the vehicle as shipped by Traxxas. The idea
is to limit the amount of hop-ups or modifications to the factory supplied vehicle to control
costs and level the playing field for everyone.
Body: All trucks must use either the factory Traxxas body or an equivalent Slash specific designed
body. No buggy, monster truck, car bodies, etc. will be allowed.
Chassis: No modifications may be made to the chassis system. Vehicles must be raced in its stock
form. Original Traxxas replacement parts, as supplied on original model 5805-truck kit, only for
damaged/worn parts. The side nerf bars, front and rear bumpers, skid plates and body mounts may
not be removed or modified.
Suspension: Both the front and rear suspension system must remain in stock form. Traxxas parts
only. No aftermarket replacement components may be installed. Original kit Traxxas
progressive white shock springs must be used. Spring preload may be adjusted only by using
the supplied spacers. Modifications of any type to the suspension arm, shocks, shock towers, hub
carriers and related parts is not allowed.
Steering: No modifications may be made to the steering system. Original kit parts only.
Bearings: Any manufacturer bearing may be used.
Electronics: Original RTR kit electronics speed control (XL-5) & servo (2075) only. You may
install any receiver you so choose. On board traction/drift device or gyros not permitted.
Motor: This class is restricted to a stock Traxxas Titan 12T r/c motor.
Battery: This class is limited to any factory-assembled packs up to 8.4 volts. Nicad or Nimh
consisting of up to 7 "sub c" size cells. No matched packs or Lipo's allowed. The battery must
be placed in the battery tray and be held in place by the original battery strap supplied with the kit.
Wheels: Original Traxxas 2.2" wheel only - no modifications. Proline and other after market
wheels are not permitted.
Tires: Original Traxxas 2.2" slash tires only - no modifications. Proline and other aftermarket
tires are not permitted. Softening compounds and other traction aids are not permitted.
Driveline: Only the original Traxxas drive train may be used. No aftermarket or hop up
replacement drive components may be installed. Traxxas steel planetary gear differential only.
Any of the three spur gears (4683, 4686, or 8690) are permitted. Any pinion gear that mounts
without modifications needed may be used. Ball differentials are not permitted in the spec class.
Weight: Truck must weigh no less than 4.75 pounds ready to race.
Racers: The easiest rule of thumb for this class is to ask your
self one simple question when
it comes too allowable changes to the slash. Did it come from Traxxas that way? Chances
are the answer is "no" and will not be permitted If your not sure, ask a member of the
executive.
